Recording Finds

Recording finds is a crucial part to archaeology and uncovering the past as the information can be relevant in so many different ways!
I have recorded many of my finds, including details such as where it was found, the size, shape, color e.t.c Even finds that I get rid of, I always photograph them first. Why? If I ever find another piece of pottery that I can date then it will allow me to know what age the finds are from and it could possibly lead to a bigger discovery!
